Political Communication blog

I think that this is a typical display of how media impacts our view on political candidates. We want action and excitement, not issues and boring policy. The media might be getting criticism for this display, but would the American public want the boring speeches about economics and foreign diplomacy?
 

I was watching CNN tour this morning and they were talking about how out of the 20 some odd debates this is the only one where people are crying foul on how 'tough' the anchors were being on Obama. Most of the commentators thought that it was just all part of it since Clinton had been getting more of the tough questions in earlier debates. Also, some pol comm professor critiqued the use of ABC's "soft questioning." Apparently they got some older woman to ask why Obama refused to wear the flag on his lapel since all military, police, and firefighters had to...I thought that was a pretty neat observation.
