John McCain pouts and the economy is a beast

http://www.comcast.net/articles/finance/20090208/Obama.Economy/

You may find this interesting. There is a funny (or at least i found it so) quote from John McCain that i found interesting he says this of republicans not being involved in the final negotiations: "That'sthe way the Bush administration, when we Republicans were in charge -- that's the way we did business," he said. "But I thought we were going to have change."

Interesting... on both ends. What do you think? Should Obama include Republicans in the final negotiation? Is he REALLY being impartial if he doesn't... also... it seems like the economy is an uncontrollable beast that no one can really get a hold of. Is it really the Bush administrations fault were in this economic crisis? Will Obama be able to set things straight again or is it so great that it will reach into even the next administration? thoughts???

Comments:
When people like John McCain make statements like this, they come off as disingenuous. Republicans are as uninvolved as they are because they choose to be so, for political purposes. They were involved in the House, negotiating changes in that version of the bill until the vote came down and not a single Republican voted for it. Whether provisions in that bill helped their constituents or not, they chose to stick together on a party-line vote, apparently in the hopes that the bill would be a failure they could wholly pin on the Democrats.

In other words, they're looking not at helping the economy, but at hoping it fails so that they can run on it in 2010.

When three of their own in the Senate worked with Democrats on a compromise on that version of the bill, the rest of the party is openly scorning them.

It's time to face the facts: the Obama Administration has bent over backwards to accommodate Republicans in the name of unifying the whole nation behind addressing our economic problems, something that simply didn't happen during the Bush Administration. Now that is change.

Of course it's the Bush administrations fault why the economy is the way it is now. They were the one's making the decisions so therefore they should be held accountable for them. Like Dan said a lot of people are waiting for Obama to screw up just so they can say "I Told You So". Even though Obama has a lot of work to do to get the economy where it needs to be. There will be change. It make take time but it will come.
