Obama plans to cut a billion dollars a year in farm subsidies. President Obama plans to do so by cutting direct payment subsidies. The plan would put a cap on every farm at $250,000. The plan proposes a cut in crop insurance subsidies and to end all cotton storage payments. Wow end cotton storage payments that seems like a sure way to drive the price of cotton down even further and completely puzzles me. This added with the plans to control greenhouse gases in which willl drive up the cost of fertilizer and pesticide prices doesn't seem to be a good idea.
