FOX vs. CNN.... Network showdown!
So as i was watching television on Wednesday (tax day) I noticed something VERY interesting... I've always heard about the different slants and bias on CNN and Fox, but i had never REALLY seen a blatant example. Well, i did on tax day. Each network had a reporter at tea parties and it was SO interesting...
The CNN reporter was arguing with the patrons, trying to disagree and disprove their views... the crowd was yelling horrible things at her telling her she worked for the devil and CNN told all lies.
Then I flip to FOX and the reporter is having a party with the crowd and they are all smiles and laughing and empathizing with each other. Interesting. Very interesting.
Both networks kept referencing their opponent network and making little jabs about how they were "biased"
What did you think about the coverage and how could the stations BOTH work to air the story in an unbiased way. Or should they keep their slants and that's okay?

The thing about this is that first, the CNN reporter could have done interviews with the tea partiers without feeling the need to argue with and correct them on anything (even if she was right or felt justified in doing so). Just put those people on camera and let them hang themselves. But, cable news being what it is, she may have felt pressure to add some O'Reilly type of conflict into the mix to get ratings. Or maybe she was instructed to do so. Dunno. But in my mind, the only way she could cover it in an unbiased way is to be completely passive and let the people rant and make fools out of themselves. Then again, you shove an Obama dressed as Hitler poster in someone's face, maybe some other instinct takes over.
Second, Fox News was for all intents and purposes a sponsor of the Tea Parties. Call them one of the several corporate sponsors, if you want. So there should be no surprise at how Fox News personalities and the Tea Parties went hand in hand. I don't think there is any way that Fox could have covered the parties in an unbiased way.
It's probably very difficult to cover an event like that in a completely neutral way. But at least CNN and other network news organizations tried.

I'm going to be quite honest. I can't stand the news. Any type of news. I refuse to watch it. And probably just for this reason. These stations report the same news stories in completely different ways. It's just like one big mind game.
There is no doubt the media is bias and other than fox the majority of all journalist are liberal and it sucks than this is what the news has become.
No matter where you stand on the issue of the actual tea party, it is difficult to not notice the media bias that was shown in the coverage of the event.
It was an undeniable show of bias, especially on the part of the "news" reporters that decided to inject their own thoughts and opinion into the coverage. A true non-biased news reporter would have just covered the event.
I think the tea party event is a prime example of the media bias.
