Oh, again with the Health Care...

Just some food for thought.

The other night I found myself sitting in the ER waiting room, only because it was late and Starkville should really invest in an on-call center. Anyways, there is a sign in there that says, "You have a right to be treated, even if you don't have medicare, medicaid, or, wait for it, HEALTH INSURANCE."

So my question is this, If people are going to be treated regardless of their health care situation, what's the big deal with giving them free health care?

Comments:
We live in a country with a Robinhood government. That's the problem. There are things called charities. If wealthy US citizens want to contribute to those less fortunate, it should be their choice. What would most Americans think if they were told that from now on we will feed, clothe and house any unemployed person from Russia. Well, it's the same thing, basically. If I had a surplus of money, I'd give to those who were in need. But, I wouldn't appreciate seeing my cash go to a physically abled crackhead with 7 kids that won't work but expects a check anyway. That's the problem, poorly regulated government programs. I watched a man here in Starkville, MS buy a six pack of tall boys with food stamps. He knew the cashier, and she rolled her eyes but made the transaction. That's BS, but it happens every minute in America.

Even though they have the "right" to be treated no matter their insurance coverage, that doesn't mean that someone down the line doesn't pay for that person's treatment that is uninsured. that's why healthcare is so expensive. and "starkville" can't invest in a on-call center because we don't have the population to deem it necessary (bc in census reports, msu students don't count as starkville population, therefore starkville looks smaller on paper than we actually are and our local and state budgeting offices don't "see" on paper a need for such a center; therefore will not get the funding for in the end.
